Initial Meteor Sighting Reports-

24AUG2013 Alexandra NOVE ZAMKY, SLOVAKIA 21:00 GMT+2:00 to 10 sec N-S (north to south), we were facing south bright white light enlightened the entire sky, then big white "ball" (with white tail) slowly flew through the sky and disappeared. after around three minutes, we heard subdued blast. not so remote blast. not sure if that blast was any connected with meteor. "ball"/meteor was bright maybe as much as moon, sky was widely enlightened as if enlightened by lightning no no photos; other observation - we heard blast 2 or 3 minutes after meteor disappeared

23AUG2013 Ashleigh Royans Perth, Western Australia 6:15:00 4 South White Flare Light with Green Tail Bright but small no Thought it was a flare at first, but was too high and too big

23AUG2013 Pauline Freeman Bullsbrook, WA, Australia 6.15 I saw it for about 5 secs I was facing SWW. The object came straight down N to S in front of me No sound, the object was white and there was a triangular orange blaze coming from it towards the North Brightness was bigger than a planet about 3 times as big, but not as big as the moon I couldn't see any There was a plane in the sky at the time nearby and the moon was still up it was nearly full. A ball of white light fell vertically from the sky with an orange triangle of flames behind it. The day was just dawning and the sky had started to lighten up.

16AUG2013 Andrew Linga Los Angeles, CA 2347 4 seconds Right to Left / Under it White with yellow "sparkles around it" (Fireball) Like a fireball strand from an artillery shell Small trailing "sparkles" It caught my eye from entering the top of my window down towards behind my neighborhood. I would say it was about a football field away from me. Hopefully it didn't break any cars.

16AUG2013 Park Doing Los Angeles, CA, USA 23:30 Pacific Standard Time 3 sec I was facing North and it looked like it was going from up to down, slightly west predominantly white, green tint, no sound sun yes, a few parts fell off just before it got brightest and flared out about 30 deg off of horizon it got big!

16AUG2013 Alison Yerxa Los Angeles, CA, USA 11;15PM approximately 3 seconds? travelling from west to North east bright white with green glow and red aftertrail, the ball was as large a a quarter of the moon size brighter than moon, like a bright white fire it broke apart at the end, or brightly fizzled out ball of the meteor was very large, I tried to compare it to the moon for size, see above

02AUG2013 David Wilsher FLAMBOROUGH, ONTARIO, CANADA 1:15:00 Viewed for approximately 20 seconds, did not appear to be travelling very quickly Facing South East, Direction Meteor East Rather large front with tail extending, white, reds, yellows. Flames off tail Moon No From our distance looked like travelling over city of Hamilton. Ontario. Canada towards either Lake Ontario or Toronto Burlington area
