Dubai Meteor ~17:45 8NOV2011
I was browsing the internet to check for unusual sighting over Dubai sky and landed in your website. Well, my 2 daughters (aged 12 & 9 yrs) were playing in the open terrace along with their other friends of similar age group and they came running down scared to tell me they saw some big ball of fire and smoke hurtling towards ground. They saw this spectacle on Nov 08th 2011 evening local UAE time 17:45 hrs approx. They saw the object for roughly to a count of 9 and then the object disappeared behind clouds and not seen again. Is that a meteor? i searched the net adn found no other reports from UAE. Do you have any further info on this? Sorry we have no pics taken at that time. Cheers/srihari Thank you Srihari and also to you daughters!

November 8th Approx 6.38pm. Arabian Ranches Dubai U.A.E.
Direction, Travelling North East.
Duration ,Approx 4 minutes.(? A bit too long for a meteor; unlikely a meteor)
While sitting in my garden i witnessed what i now presume to be a fireball. It was very orange in colour (i thought it was a plane on fire). It followed what appeared to be a straight path ,it moved slowly and made no sound. It also looked quite large and seemed to be quite low in the sky.
About 8 pm the same night i saw what appeared to be a smaller one but it was much higher in the sky. Hope this has been helpful . Anne Thank you Anne!

United Arab Emirates arrived from google.co.uk on "Latest Worldwide Meteor/Meteorite News" by searching for slow moving fireball over dubai 2011 november 8th.
